Why Wise?
Wisdom may be the difference between the life you live and the life you wished you lived.  Wisdom is what equips us for the thousands of choices and directions that make up our lives, so “why wise”?  Because it matters.

CAP Sunday - This week we hear from Sam Swadling about the wonderful work of Christians Against Poverty (CAP).  This international organisation was started in the United Kingdom nearly 20 years ago and has grown to become a vital help for many people who struggle with financial difficulty.

Mark 15:21-39  The death of Jesus was the end of the old order.  In that moment all of life changed and new rules apply.  Jesus’ last breath was the last breath of the old life and God will never again hold us to the standards that applied in the first age.

Mark 15:1-20  The trials of Jesus are clearly portrayed as corrupt, a mockery of justice.  But it is that mockery of Justice that helps us see clearly, to know that it shouldn’t be Him that dies.  If only someone would speak up, but of course that would blow our cover too.

Why Aren't Dad Jokes Funny? - What is it with dads and dad jokes?  Everbody knows they aren't funny, but dads keep telling them.  What does it say about dads, and the perception of who they are and the place they have in families and society?

Mark 14:53-72  People are so passionate!  So angry!  Why?!  What are they so angry at?!  What happens when we finally have a target for our anger?! What happens when that target is us?!

1 John 3:16  The words of the Apostle encourage us to "...lay down our lives for the brethren".  What though does this mean?  How does this look in our daily lives?  To follow Christ, and His example, is not always easy or comfortable, but it is always rewarding.

Mark 14:32-52  In the first garden mankind betrayed God and would not submit. Second garden, second Adam. This time He will obey even when He knows it will kill Him.

Mark 14:10-31  The hardest evil to forgive comes from those closest to us. But perhaps that’s the greatest lesson on grace, that Jesus ate and drank with Judas.
